World Champion and World Record Holder to hold Squash Masterclass with Truro School students

We are excited to announce that on Friday 12 May, Truro School will be hosting another Squash masterclass, this time with three-time World Champion, Nick Matthew, and the current World record holder for the biggest hit (176 mph) Cameron Pilley.

The Squash professionals will be visiting Truro School in the afternoon to conduct their own Squash masterclass session with a number of Truro School’s young players.

This is following the success of last year’s masterclass which saw the then World’s No 1 Squash player, Mohamed Elshorbagy, and the 2016 World Under 25 Player of the Year, Mazen Hesham, visit to lead a session with over 30 of our students, taking in turns to rally with the professionals on the school’s two squash courts.

A bright future – Truro School’s Squash programme

Squash at Truro School has been a successfully developing programme, with two of our Junior players, Jack Mahon and Louis Murray currently sitting at England No 7 and No 19 at Under 13 level.

Jack and Louis, amongst a number of other keen Squash players at Truro School, will benefit greatly from this professional masterclass session with Nick and Cameron and will also be joined by the England O40 no1 player, Jon Gallacher. Jon is an Elite level coach and will be participating in an elite session with Jack and Louis earlier in the day.

Following on from the masterclass at Truro School, Nick Matthew and Cameron Pilley will be making their way to Truro Squash Club, where they will be playing an exhibition match on Friday evening.

Parents and students are invited to watch Nick Matthew and Cameron Pilley as they lead the Squash masterclass on Friday 12 May. They will arrive at the Sir Ben Ainslie Sports Centre at approximately 4pm and stay until 5:30pm.
