Reception classes were visited by Laura Cooke, school coordinator for World Aims, (Action in Methodist Schools), who led a workshop to celebrate the school’s woodland, its diversity and ever-changing beauty.
The workshop explored the importance of trees within our environment and of how we can care for them. The children undertook activities including: painting a wooden leaf tea light; drawing and decorating trees; writing and decorating their name in glitter leaves and making sparkly tree decorations.
After completing the activities, the children went into the woods to look at some of the fine specimen trees we are lucky enough to have in our school grounds.
