Under 14 Rugby Sevens Squad Crowned County Champions

Truro School’s Under 14’s have won this year’s County Rugby Sevens tournament.

The team started slowly in game one of the pool section against Mounts Bay, although still winning comfortably. In the rest of the pool games, the whole squad were rotated and kept fresh as we cruised through to the quarter finals.

A fine performance against Camborne led to the semi-final against Newquay Tretherras and after another strong showing we faced Redruth in the final. After some early resistance we played some great 7’s to emerge deserved winners of the Bobby Isaacs trophy for the eighth time in 11 years.

Pool Results

v Mounts Bay: WON 31-0
v Launceston: WON 41-0
v Pool ‘B’: WON 54-0

Quarter Final

v Camborne: WON 61-0

Semi-Final

Perhaps most pleasing was the resolute defence of the team which meant they did not concede a single point in the tournament.
