Cross Country ‘Best Primary’ Winners

Congratulations to our U11 and U9 cross-country teams, who performed extremely well in their races at Polwhele House School over the weekend. It was brilliant to have the opportunity to compete against a variety of local schools, including Bosvigo, St. Mary’s, Archbishop Benson, Polwhele and Truro High.

The chilly, bright morning was perfect for racing. After a walk of the course, it was the U9 races, in which our runners, Alyssia, Ellie, Tilda, Bo, Ashleigh, Sienna, Henry, Reggie, William L, Oliver, Charlie and Freddie were very successful. Alyssia, Ellie and Sienna grabbed the three top places in their race, as did Reggie in the boys’ race. Special mention to our Year 3 runners – Sienna and Ashleigh – who are definitely ones to watch next year.

It was then the turn of our talented and committed U11 runners, Olivia, Sarah, Isobel, Winnie, Lexi, Ottilie, Teddy, Harry R, Finley, Ethan and Nathaniel. Winnie, Isobel and Teddy finished in the top five spots and, incredibly, all of the team finished in the top 13.

Special mention to Lexi, in Year 5, who still has another year in her age group and to Winnie for finishing in the medals.

It was fantastic to see Truro School Prep being rewarded for their efforts and teamwork with the shield for ‘Best Primary’ in the U9 and U11 age groups.

Thank you to all the many parents who supported this event. It was extremely worthwhile for all the children who participated.
