Truro School have Regional Cross Country Success

Finn and Harris Regionals

On a very wet and windy Saturday afternoon on 4 February, seven Truro School pupils represented Cornwall at the South West Regional Cross Country Championships. Held at Truro School the course was just about holding up after a large amount of rainfall over the previous week.

In the minor boys race Finn ran a good race finishing in 30th position, while Izzy found the going tough in the junior girls’ race but worked hard to finish in 62nd place. The course was starting to really cut up after the first few races and the junior boys worked hard through the mud, with Benjy finishing 21st, 3rd of the Cornish runners and Isaac 51st.

The Intermediate boys’ race was a brilliant race, unfortunately Alexander was unable to run due to illness but Finn and Harris ran superbly despite both of them falling over during the race. Finn crossed the line 1st and Harris in 3rd separated only by a runner from Avon. Olivia in the senior girls’ race also ran very well for 9th position. There were also team golds for Olivia, Finn and Harris.

The following have been selected to run in the National Finals at Norwich on Saturday 18th March: Izzy, Benjy, Isaac, Finn, Harris, Alexander and Olivia.
