Truro Cricket Team Secure Outstanding Victory in the National Schools Cup

As Cornwall County Champions, Truro School Under 13 cricket team played Devon champions Exeter School in the 1st round of the national cup on Wednesday.

Exeter School batted first and were in a good position at 77 for 3 after 16 overs but consistent bowling and fielding by Truro pressurised Exeter, forcing a batting collapse where the last 7 wickets fell for 22 runs, with Ben B taking 4 wickets in his spell.

Truro’s openers Toby F (39 not out) and Ben C (27 not out) batted patiently and with good technique against a strong bowling attack and passed the Exeter score without the loss of any wickets to cap an outstanding performance by the team.

Truro now play King’s Hall School from Taunton in the 2nd round of the cup for a place in the South West final.
