Swimming success for School House

This afternoon we held the 1st and 3rd Year house swimming gala.
 
After the highly successful 2nd year gala last Friday it would take a lot to beat the excellent swimming, but the 1st and 3rd years did not disappoint.
 
A total of four records were broken today, all by School house, not forgetting the two records broken by Smith house last Friday. A total of six broken records is testament to the hard work and dedication of the pupils who contribute to Truro School Swimming.
 
The records today were:

• 1st Year Girls’ Individual Medley
Old record – A. Grigg (Vinter) 1.18.07 set in 2008
New record – E. Nettleton (School) 1.14.09
 
• 1st Year Girls’ Freestyle Relay
Old record – Vinter 1.11.61 set in 2011
New record – School 1.08.58 set by E. Waterhouse, M. Danielson, N. Read, E. Nettleton
 
• 1st Year Boys’ Medley Relay
Old record – Wickett 1.20.64 set in 2000
New record – School 1.19.98 set by A Sim, B. Coston, S. Makhlouf, K Gordon-Brown
 
• 3rd Year Girls’ Medley Relay
Old record – Smith 1.16.86 set in 2003
New record – School 1.15.64 set by H Sparling, C. Wardman, F. Hocking, D. Macdonald.

 
The two records broken by Smith house in the relays last Friday were:

• Old record: 2nd Year boys’ Freestyle Relay held by Smith set in 2000 at 1.02.67
New record: 2nd Year boys’ Freestyle Relay set by L. Barnsley, M. Hallam, M. Hudson & S. Norton with a time of 1.01.86
 
• Old record: 2nd Year boys’ Medley Relay held by Wickett set in 1994 at 1.13.37
New record: 2nd Year boys’ Medley Relay set by L. Barnsley, S. Norton, M. Hudson & M. Hallam with a time of 1.07.86

 
The final combined totals from the 1st, 2nd and 3rd Year galas were:

1st School 200
2nd Smith 147
3rd Wickett 125
4th Vinter 104
