Students participate in the Children’s Hospice South West Rainbow Run

The annual Children’s Hospice South West rainbow Run was held once again last Sunday at RAF St Mawgan, with a number of our boarders rising nice and early to take part and raise money for the local charity.

Cladding themselves out in white t-shirts, the students made their way to the registration tent and as soon as the claxon had sounded, they were off! A mixture of walking, running, skipping and cartwheeling ensued for the 5K course as they pelted one another with the colourful paint at each station.

The Children’s Hospice South West now has a chain of hospices covering Cornwall, Devon, Somerset, and Gloucestershire and allows parents to cope with the struggles of a child’s illness and find some relief from their responsibilities of care. The Truro School boarding community have supported the event and the charity for the last three years and this year, they set themselves a target of £250 to raise for the charity. If you would still like to donate, please visit their JustGiving page here: https://www.justgiving.com/fundraising/truro-school-boarders.

Congratulations also goes to Year 5 Prep pupil, Charlie, who also ran the whole 5K on Sunday and raised an impressive £150 for the charity. Charlie ran with his younger sister and they were two of the few children under the age of 10 to participate in the full 5K route.

Congratulations to Charlie and to all our Truro School boarders for their fantastic efforts and for raising so much money for this wonderful charity.
