




Entrance tests are now a fact of life for some courses, and will increasingly become a familiar part of the admissions landscape. The three which have come into existence recently are the BMAT and the UKCAT for Medicine, Dentistry and Veterinary students and the LNAT for Law students. Oxford and Cambridge have other admission tests.
The BioMedical Admissions Test is sat in early November for a range of veterinary science and medicine courses. You should visit www.bmat.org.uk for details of the universities that require the test and specimen questions. Look at the Medicine page for more information.
The UK Clinical Aptitude Test is being used by a larger number of universities to assist in selecting students for medicine and dentistry. Candidates will have to register themselves at www.ukcat.ac.uk The cost of the test will be £60. Again, look at the Medicine page for more information.
The National Admission Test for Law will be sat by students applying for courses at Birmingham, Bristol, Cambridge, Durham, East Anglia, Glasgow, King’s London, Manchester Metro, Nottingham, Oxford, UCL.
