Whilst being a part of the main school, the Sixth Form at Truro School very much has its own identity, ethos and sense of community. It is large enough to offer a broad and wide ranging educational experience, and yet small enough to ensure all students are known and treated as individuals and valued members of our community.
It is our belief that the Sixth Form is a transitional period whereby our students can learn to become more independent after their GCSE studies, ready to face the challenges of Higher Education and employment. At the same time we offer the security and support to enable students to do so in a safe, respectful and nurturing environment.
I am proud of our students and rightly feel privileged to be responsible for overseeing their personal development over their time in the Sixth Form. It is my belief that all students should leave us having had the opportunity to maximise their academic and personal potential at this stage of their education. Whilst it may sound clichéd, I am constantly surprised, inspired and challenged by our students; their capacity for successful study, involvement in co-curricular activities and their leadership skills are a constant reminder of what our Sixth Form offers young men and women and what they gain as a consequence.
I hope you find the information here useful but there really is no substitute for visiting us and experiencing what we are about, so I encourage you to either attend our Open Morning or contact the school to arrange a private visit; our students and staff will be more than willing to meet you, take you on a tour and answer any questions you may have.
