Senior Girls’ Boarding Update – 10 October

As ever it has been an incredibly busy week in boarding with the highlight being the Great Boarding Bake Off competition on Friday.

All of the boarders competed to produce the best cake (scoring was based on two categories – presentation and taste).  Needless to say the Malvern girls did brilliantly (see the photographs).  Emma and Sophie got first prize with their amazing chocolate and vanilla cake, with Tessa second with her fruit sponge creation coming a close second.  Hailey, Nicolette and Chloe were unlucky not to receive third prize with their incredible rainbow cake.  We managed to raise around £150 for the Macmillan cancer charity as well as provide twelve cakes for the school to share.  It was a fantastic event which everyone thoroughly enjoyed.

The end of the week was also quite challenging in a completely different way.  The MIST organisation arrived to carry out a Child Protection and Safeguarding audit, which lasted two days.  We were pleased to hear on the Friday that boarding had done really well and that the auditors were pleased with everything they saw across the whole school.

The weekend was also busy.  On Saturday morning we had Open Day with the whole school once again being inundated with prospective pupils.  Thanks to both Jessica and Sasha for their wonderful help.  Sunday was a bit quieter but still great fun as we took the junior and senior girls to Flow Rider (indoor surfing) which was really exciting.

We are now all looking forward to half term as a well-deserved rest will be appreciated by everyone.
