Senior Boys’ Boarding Update: 27 March 2017

It has been another busy but enjoyable week in Trennick with many activities taking place which the boys continue to be fully involved with.

Fahed and Callum went to Dartmoor for the weekend to take part in a training expedition for the Silver Duke Of Edinburgh Award’s Scheme. They left school after lessons on Friday and enjoyed two unbroken days of sunshine on Dartmoor. Anyone who has been onto Dartmoor will know full well that two days in a row on sunshine is a rarity so Fahed and Callum chose their weekend wisely.

Ayobami, Cyrus, Ethan, Tristan, Kobe, Alec, Joe and Joe all enjoyed a pizza in Mr. and Mrs. Copeland’s apartment on ‘take-away Tuesday’ although Mr. Kitto was a little upset when Alec forgot to order him a pizza. The students were great company especially Ethan and Joe who told some great tales of growing up on the Scillies and their school experience.

On Saturday morning the house visited Crantock beach near Newquay for the annual beach clean. It was great to put something back into the Cornish community while also enjoying the fine weather on a stunning beach. The Crantock village shop seemed to benefit from the large number of ice-creams and cold drinks bought!

Henry arranged a house council meeting on Sunday evening where various ideas and issues were discussed such as buying some more cutlery and mugs, investing in a second hand Xbox, and redesigning the duty rota. It is always interesting to hear the points of view from the boys and the members of the house should be grateful for the time and energy that Alan, Hector, Ethan, Alec, Fahed and Callum put into the council and the excellent work that Henry does chairing the meetings.
