Fund-Raising Committee for Max Levene's Charity

 

 

The Max Levene Fund-Raising committee consists of Aubin De Gruchy,  James Austin (Treasurer), Charles Davies, Graham Whitmore, Jayne Grigg (Secretary),  Mark Nicholas and Mike Homer (Chairman).  It also includes pupil representatives Freddie Gleadowe (Head Boy), Aimee Hutchinson (Head Girl) and Ben Andrews (Head of Trennick House).  We are working hard to co-ordinate and organise fund-raising events in support of Max and are always open to ideas and suggestions.

 

After a great deal of debate and advice, it has been decided that the funds raised will go into a Discretionary Trust (The Max Levene Trust) rather than a Charity to ensure that all monies raised will be used for the benefit of Max now and in the future.  We expect the Trust Deed to be confirmed by solicitors and with us by the end of this academic year so that a separate bank account can be opened. 

 

As you are aware, our share of the money raised by the Rugby Union Grand Draw came to £10,233.  We have direct donations and other small fund-raising events totaling just over £10,000 and the Truro Schools Society Ball is expected to have raised in excess of £10,000 which means we have already raised over £30,000 since November.  We are looking forward to the exciting events of June (Sports Dinner, Invitation Match and Hall for Cornwall Concert), which will be a very busy time, and to smashing through our target of £50,000 in the first year.
