Rounders Update – 18 May 2016

Truro School Vs Penair School

Under 12 Won 11-7

This was a very competitive game with the teams closely matched. Truro Scored 5 ½ rounders in the first inning with Milli top scorer with 2. Penair replied with 4 ½ , Lizzie taking a fine catch. It was all to play for in the second innings. Truro scored 5 ½ but with tight fielding managed to keep Penair to 2 1/2 , Lizzie and Katie taking catches. Libby bowled superbly and Katie played wella t back stop. A great team performance.

Under 13 Lost 13-15 ½

It was a close match throughout and an excellent performance from all the girls. The first innings saw the girls playing amazing well and scoring a total of 9 ½ rounder’s against Penair with spectacular batting from Rosie, Millie and Nila. The girls also demonstrated excellent team work while fielding managing to get 7 players out. Penair won overall but our girls maintained a great team spirit throughout and played amazingly well. Well done U13s team!

Under 14 Won 16 ½ – 11

The conditions were reasonable although a little slippery underfoot.  Having won the toss we decided to field first and our team were ahead following the first innings.  We had a strong team with good batting and fielding from all team members.   Rebecca and Daisy both made some excellent catches and Rebecca bowled consistently well.

 Under 15 Lost 10-12 ½

Batting first the girls got off to a slow start to score just 4.5 rounder’s in their first innings. Penair were a little more successful but some great catches and good fielding to get players out at the posts saw all but one of the Penair team out. The score at half time saw Penair ahead by just one rounder so there was everything to play for. In their second innings the girls picked up a further 5.5 rounder’s, some super hitting from our left handers, Courtney and Anais kept the Penair fielders on their toes.  With just 10 rounder’s the girls had to field well to close the game and again some excellent catches saw each of the Penair batters out before the end of the innings. Unfortunately with 12.5 to our 10 the girls lost out on this occasion.
