The results from our Under 12s – Under 15s bulk fixture against Helston.
Under 12s: Won 21- 9 ½
Another fine win for the Under 12s. Truro fielded first and Ellia, Polly and Katie all took some great catches. The team holding Helston to 6 ½ rounders. Truro scored 11 ½ in the first innings with Harriet. Lizzie and Katie scoring well. Truro’s fielding was tighter in the second innings; Harriet, Polly, Lizzie and Nancy taking catches and Helston scored 3. Truro replied with 9 ½ , Harriet scoring 4 ½ rounders in this innings. Well done to the whole squad.
Under 13s: Won 19 ½ – 3 ½
The girls won the toss to field first. Jess and Elinor linked up wonderfully on backstop and first post and this together with some super bowling from captain Rosie and some great covering and catching out in the field saw all nine Helston batters out with still ten balls remaining. The girls went into bat having conceded just one rounder. Again the girls were on fine batting form, this week’s risk taking practices and emphasis on placement of the ball improved our game further and the girls finished their first batting innings with 11 rounder’s. The second innings saw a swap around but once again the girls held strong to allow just 2.5 rounder’s to be scored; they then went on to add eight more to their total when batting to close the game. Well done girls…highest scorer today was Jess with 4 rounders!
Under 14s: Won 14 ½ – 6
The team today were particularly strong with several players fielding consistently well. In the first innings we could see that we were winning but that didn’t stop Helston from having a few cracking hits. Our players player chosen by Helston today was Daisy Macdonald, well done she really deserved it with some amazing hits and stumping’s.
Under 15s: Drew 10 ½ all
The first innings was strong with several rounders scored by the girls. What the girls demonstrated was their excellent fielding skills which saw them get 7 Helston students out. The well practised accurate throws stopped Helston students scoring at second base. However, the first innings saw Helston creep ahead by 1/2 a rounder. In the second innings the 4th year students worked really hard with 6 rounders scored while Helston achieved 5 1/2 with their exceptional batting. The Truro girls worked together as a brilliant team and their fielding made it difficult for Helston to get ahead. Great play from all the students, well done!
