From Shakespeare to Spiderman, it was clear that a lot of effort had been put into the costumes with many pupils also portraying the personalities of their chosen characters throughout the day, to the humour of classmates.

Mrs Hudson, Head of Pre-Prep said:

“World Book Day and Book week is one of our favourite events in the Truro Prep School calendar because, not only is it loads of fun, but also because it brings every child, teacher and parent together to share in the very real magic of books”

What is World Book Day?

Celebrated in over 100 countries, World Book Day is a celebration of authors, creative writing, illustration and storytelling with the aim of getting children interested in reading. World Book Day aims to help children explore the pleasure of books and reading.

To mark the day, Truro Prep pupils, and indeed school children across the country, received a World Book Day £1 book token. The £1 book token can be exchanged for one of ten specially published £1 World Book Day books.
