Victory for Truro Prep scientists

16 May 2012

Year 5 pupils claimed the top spot in the regional heat of a national science competition last week. They beat off competition from other schools in the area to gain a place representing Cornwall in the regional Semi-finals later this term.

Congratulations to Molly Browne, Thomas Inns, Zoe Meads & Ben Williams who did a wonderful job answering some very challenging questions, which earned them a fantastic first place.

Truro Prep was lucky enough to have three teams representing the school at the competition and the second team, consisting of Zac Berger, Sean Heaney, Jenny Howarth & Olivia Rimmer gained a very commendable 3rd place overall in the competition. The third team consisted of Rebecca Hill (5W); Alistair Mantle (5W); James Upton (5W) & Megan Waterhouse (5W) and they also performed incredibly well, coming 6th overall.
