Prep host their first hardball match of the season against Truro Cricket Club

On Wednesday 3rd May, Truro Prep hosted their first hardball match of the season, against the highly competitive and able Truro Cricket Club Under 11s.

Hosting a number of county players as well as some familiar faces from Truro Prep, Truro Cricket Club were to bat first. Despite some strong fielding and fast pitched bowling Truro Cricket Club set a high target of over 100 runs for Truro Prep to reach.

Truro Prep’s first three batsmen were bowled out early due to some Shane Warne-esque spin bowling. Despite this, Truro Prep dug in with a fine selection of shots from Josh L and Luke, in addition to some big hit 4s from Pierce.

Truro Prep battled hard but were unable to amount the total needed to beat their opponents, leaving Truro Cricket Club to take a well-earned victory.

Many thanks must go to all involved in the match, not least the support from the parents on the side lines.
