This weekend the girls have started to think about the last few weeks left here at Truro School and we can’t believe how fast the time has gone.
Amelie and Henrike have been very busy practicing for the school play ‘A Midsummer Night’s Dream’ which has almost sold out. Henrike is helping backstage doing the makeup and dress rehearsals while Amelie is acting. We look forward to hearing how their full dress rehearsals go next week and am sure it will be a big hit.
On Saturday we headed off by train to Plymouth. The train takes about one and a half hours but the girls thought it was well worth it. The scenery on the way to Plymouth is really beautiful, with undulating hills, gorges and the trees turning oranges and reds.
The girls got to see some of Plymouth’s Christmas lights and the market. We had a look around the shops in Drakes Circus, from bookshops and shoe shops, to cafes and electricals. Some of the girls decided to start some of their Christmas shopping so they could give family and friends souvenirs from the South West.
After a busy afternoon of shopping we headed to Nando’s just outside Drakes Circus. The girls could choose from an array of foods, Ann-Kathrin choosing the ‘beanie’ burger and Helena the hot wings selection. All the girls were happily full after the meal and then we headed home. The nights are starting earlier and it was dark by 4.30pm when we took the train back to Truro. By the time we returned it was 8pm and we were all quite tired.
On Sunday Amelie went back to the Burrell Theatre for her dress rehearsal while the rest of the girls finished off some prep and enjoyed going to the dance studio.
We are off to the dining hall for a scrumptious supper followed by an early night.
