Netball Weekly Summary – 16 October

Week beginning Monday 10th October.

U18B vs Falmouth A in the Social League 18-18

In an exciting and open match, the many girls who have remained loyal members of the U19 squad, finally got a chance to represent the school when they took on Falmouth School’s first team.  There were never more than two goals in it and Truro led throughout most of the game but were pegged back in the dying moments by a resilient Falmouth team and an amicable draw seemed the fair result.  Several girls staked their claim for a place in the county tournament squad next week. Beth at centre and Cerys, in particular were extremely reliable and Anne, in her first ever game for Truro school, shot superbly for 5/6 shooting.  A highly enjoyable afternoon!

SSP vs Pool School

U12 Won 16-0

An excellent first match for the U12s. They settled well into the game and showed some excellent passages of play. A team to watch out for in the future I think. Evelyn was voted player of the match by the opposition.

U13 Won 10-4

The B team settled well and dominated play throughout. It was a great team effort, all girls working hard to maintain possession.

 U14 Won 37-2

A commanding win for the U14B team, they took control of the game from the start and never looked back. Anne was voted player of the match by the opposition in her first ever netball match – what a fantastic achievement!

U15 Won 10-8

The U15B netball team had their first match of the season. Mary and Lauren were dominant in defence with Martha controlling the centre third. Aerin and Jenna shot well with Connie being voted player of the match. Thank you to all the girls for performing admirably and with great team spirit.

 U16 Won 40-1

Our last match before the County Tournament and a chance to iron out a few team objectives that we have been working on. It was a very one sided and scrappy match but all eight players stuck to task well and with whole team defending working well the opposition struggled to maintain possession of the ball. The squad are in good spirits for Saturday!
