Week beginning Monday 12th September:
U13 Independent School National Cup Won 17-13
After a horrendous journey to The Maynard, Exeter due to traffic delays, the girls had 5 minutes to warm up. The girls started tentatively which in the circumstances was understandable. As the game progressed and combinations changed the girls played with far more confidence. It was a well contested game and played in a friendly but competitive nature. The girls deservedly won coming out 17 – 13 winners.
U18 Vs Millfield Lost 22- 32
Truro battled hard against a defensively solid Millfield and kept them at bay for much of the first quarter. A solid fourth quarter’s shooting after improved feeding of the circle saw Truro close the gap but come up short. Defensively, Lilly and Mollie were solid throughout.
U16 vs Millfield Lost 16-44
The U16s travelled away to Millfield for their first fixture of the season, a great opportunity to give players exposure playing at this level. A good first quarter by Truro who were pressurised from the start by a very tall and fast paced side. All players stuck to the task throughout the game with excellent defending and shooting by Courtney (GA/GD) and Alice (GA/C/GD).
U14 vs Millfield Lost 8-31
With captain and GA Rosie poorly and unable to travel, the U14s were a little shaken. The squad had to step up and demonstrate their versatility, resilience and determination; some rose to the occasion well. The first quarter was incredibly close with the score 2-3, however Millfield then dominated and pulled away. Elinor fed the circle well, seeing the second mover; whilst Scarlett defended well against strong opposition in the shooting circle.
