Netball Summary – Week Beginning 29 February

Under 12B vs Polwhele Won 9-6

The team showed their immense improvements against the rematch with Polwhele. The girls went out focusing on their passing and moving into the space. Ellie B and Ellie L worked well doing this and feeding the circle well with whatever shooting combination we had. Mili was dominant in GD throughout the game making good interceptions and supporting the play down court alongside Emma as WD. The defence of Sophie P and Sophie H worked well when they both played GK ensuring support with Milli. The girls worked hard to maintain discipline and focus allowing Natasha to score well working with Anna and Ellie. A well deserved win that showed the hard work and great progress of the squad. Well done!

Under 14 vs Mount Kelly Won 22-5

The girls only had a 7 players so some were out of their normal playing positions. They were far more disciplined with their footwork and obstruction than their opposition which they capitalised on taking the ball to the shooters who successfully shot. Each player gave 100% in their play and supporting each other. A great team effort.

Under 15 vs Mount Kelly Won 38-16

Due to a lack of availability the team consisted of a combination of Under 14 and Under 15 players. The team started brilliantly with excellent movement and great unity in the shooting circle by Molly and Ella. Becky made numerous interceptions giving Truro lots of possession. Truro took control, all the players stepped up and played extremely well as a team, well done everyone.

Under 16 vs Mount Kelly Won 54-10

The Under 16 team was made from Under 15/16 players. Despite the mixture the girls played exceptionally well. The team started out strong in attack with some lovely passing into the circle from Alice and Amie. The shooting of Alice and Cerys remained strong for the whole game. The centre court worked very hard with many interceptions and strong passing from Aabha and Emily. The defence team worked hard to put pressure on the GS to great effect. Charlotte, Ailsa and Emily. Amy stepped into C with ease and conducted the game well, working nicely with Emily to pressure the opposing attack and support the feed to the circle.

A phenomenally strong team game with a definitive score line.

Under 18 vs Mount Kelly Won 43-30

Similarly the Under 18 team comprised Under 16s and Under 18s due to a lack of availability from a large number of players. The Under 16s combined well with the U18s, Savvy and Mollie playing well in the shooting circle. Beth made many interceptions at WD. Good preparation for next year.
