Lower Sixth Student to Climb Kilimanjaro for Cancer Research

Lower Sixth student Simon Riley is currently in the final stages of training and preparation as he looks ahead to tackling Mount Kilimanjaro in early February.

Simon’s self-funded trip to the highest point in Africa is all in aid of Cancer Research UK. With 79% of Simon’s £3000 target already reached, Simon is hopeful that he can hit 100% before he departs.

On his Just Giving page, Simon writes:

“I want to help the people who are putting the effort in to try and cure this awful disease. I know some people who have been affected by cancer, some suffering the worst outcome of all. I want to help make sure that cancer doesn’t do any more damage to my friends, family and anyone else. Instead I want to keep positivity high about trying to find a cancer cure.”
