Louis wins the Worcestershire Junior Open

Congratulations to 1st Year student Louis Murray, who cemented his status as favourite in the tournament last week as he won the Worcestershire Junior Open at the Stourbridge Lawn Tennis and Squash Club on Saturday 8th May.

Having received the news that morning that his England ranking had risen from No. 19 to No. 18, along with 1st Year student, Jack Mahon, whose ranking had also risen to No. 8, it was a great day for Truro School’s Squash players.

Louis’ performance in the Worcestershire Junior Open saw him take victory without losing a single game throughout the quarter-finals, semi-finals and on to the final, beating the Under 11 No. 6 ranked England player 11-3, 11-0 and 11-5.

In the coming months, Louis will play tournaments in Gloucester, Winchester, Lee-on-the-Solent and Manchester and will compete in the Super Series Dutch Junior Open in Amsterdam in July where he hopes to improve his European Junior rankings of where he currently sits at number 46.
