Juinor Boys’ Boarding Update: 10 October

This week saw the first Boarding Bake –Off in aid of Macmillan Cancer Support. Each of the houses baked cakes which were judges and we sold them to the school on Friday morning raising over £143!! The boys in Poltisco mixed cakes, baked cakes and decorated cakes!

Friday night was the usual fare of prep for an hour followed by some down time and the chance for some to go to the Sports Centre. Thoughts lay ahead to an early breakfast at 8.45am!!! as it was the school’s Open Morning. With good grace the guys rose, donned their school uniform on a Saturday and helped to guide parents and their children round the site as well as down to the boarding house. With almost 150 sets of parents on site it was a busy morning and the boys did a sterling job. The afternoon was, understandably one of rest or town visits.

Saturday evening was the usual pizza, chicken and movie night.

After a hearty brunch and a much needed lie in on Sunday morning the boys were excited to join Trennick for the activity, which was laser tag. Mark Lytham from Green Leisure brought the laser guns to school and we played in 3 groups attacking and defending the quad in front of the Sixth Form Centre. I hope that the images below give you a flavour of the highly enjoyable activity which took place on a beautiful Sunday afternoon.

Sunday evening was spent in prep for an hour followed by getting ready for the week ahead. Tune in next week as the boys venture to Trenowth Woods for some team building adventures! Half-term is almost upon us and a chance for a break from school. Many of you will have the boys at home with you and we wish you a super half-term break with them.
