Football’s Half Termly Report – September to October 2016

It has been a busy half term with cup competitions in the Independent Schools Cup, English Schools Cup and County Cup.

1st XI vs Forest School, London

The 1st XI hosted Forest School from London in the 1st rd of the ISFA Cup. Forest proved to be very strong in all departments. Truro had a depleted side but it gave an opportunity for boys to step up into the 1st XI. Whilst the result ended in a 6 – 0 defeat it was a performance full of character and determination, which included three 5th Year players.

U13 and 15’s

The U13 and 15s also participated in the ISFA Cup and had equally difficult 1st rd draws. The U13s played an excellent Bournemouth Collegiate team and lost 7 – 1. The U15s travelled to Bedales School and lost 2 – 0

U14’s and U16’s

In the ESFA Cup the U14s are in the 3rd rd against Sir John Colfox Academy. The U16s have been progressing well. They beat Cape Cornwall School 6.1 with Troy scoring a 10 minute hatrick, leaving the U16s to play ISCA School from Exeter after half term.

In the County Cup the U16s played Mullion in the 1st rd and won 2.0, Troy scoring both goals.

There have also been boys and girls attending trails for different squads. Rebecca from the 4th Year attended ISFA England trials a year young, which was a wonderful experience for her.

Ethan from the 5th Year attended England U18 trials and was also a year young.

Joey from our 4th year was successful in being selected for West Cornwall U15s and Cameron for West Cornwall U13s.

We have also sent boys to Sherborne for South West Independent U13 trails. Cameron, Jude, Joe, Charlie and Indigo have all progressed to the next stage. If successful they will play in Menorca next April against the likes of, Barcelona, Real Madrid, Man City and Arsenal.
