Football Summary – Week Beginning 28 September 2015

Canford School 3 – 1 Truro School

It has been a busy start to the term for our footballers. The ISFA AND ESFA cups have been a real test for our players.

The 1st XI started at Canford School and recorded an excellent 3-1 win. Goals from Francis, Dan and Gus secured a win and a trip to Eton College in the next round.

Eton 8 v 0 Truro 1st XI

Eton proved to be an excellent experience for the players. After a promising 60 minutes trailing by two goals and matching Eton for long periods, unfortunately the boys lost their way on the field. A heavy defeat followed, but hopefully many lessons learnt.

Helston 6 – 2 Truro 1st XI Development Squad

In the ESFA we sent a development squad To play Helston. Unfortunately we missed a penalty when the score was 2.2, and with 3 minutes of play left. Once again Truro failed to keep their shape in the latter stages and bowed out of the competition.

Truro Under 15: 0 – 1 Bournemouth Collegiate

With 8 players missing through various reasons, Truro travelled to Bournemouth with 12 players. Truro played superbly and were unfortunate to lose 1.0. Fred Bareham was outstanding against one of their players who is a product of Southampton Football Academy.

Truro Under 13s: 1 – 3 Shebbear

After a promising start to the game Truro scored. Truro should have gone further ahead but failed to capitalise on possession and chances. Shebbear equalised and went on to win the game. However, there were many positives to take from the game.
