Fencing Report – Week Beginning Monday 28 September

In the Under 17 boys’ event Bertie Holdsworth continued his fine run of form with another podium place, this time taking gold. Alex Boote finished in 6th place with Luke Haynes in 25th, Sam Boorne in 28th and Henry Hurst in 58th.
 
In the Under 17 girls’ competition, Keely Rodda finished in 8th place, with Lily Wood in 10th, Jenna Bray in 11th and Molly Wood in 12th.
 
In the second day of competition, our fencers competed in the Hamlet competition, a nominated event on the senior circuit. Semion Aydarov, competing in his first British fencing event finished in 6th place, with Bertie Holdsworth in 25th, Nick Howes in 28th, Sam Boorne in 31st and Alex Boote in 47th. In the senior women’s event, Caiti Maxwell continued her great run of podium finishes with a silver medal with Maria Chart in 7th place. Molly Wood ended the day in 24th with Lily Woos in 28th, Jenna Bray in 37th and Keely Rodda in 48th.
 
Our fencers also competed in the team event with Maria, Caiti and Lily’s team finishing in 2nd place with Jenna, Keely and Molly’s B team finishing in 7th. In the boys’ team event, Nick, Bertie and Semion kept the run of podium places going with a bronze medal finish and Sam and Alex’s B team taking 8th place.
