1st XI v Cornwall over 50’s
Cornwall Over 50’s 165 all out. C Standon 5-8,
Truro School 168 – 6 T Orpe 61, D Hubble 32, S Firth 29, C Standon 23
The over 50’s won the toss and batted first. School bowled and fielded well throughout the innings limiting the over 50’s to just 64 off 20 overs. The 50+ had to dig in and take what runs they could. They were finally all dismissed 1 ball short of 50 overs. All of the Truro players bowled during the innings.
Truro had a shaky start and lost the first four wickets for only 64 runs. A superb foundation from opener Tom Orpe lead to way for number 6,7 and 8 to really take the game to the opposition. From 102 for 6 in the 26th over to 168 for 6 in the 33rd over and victory. The damage was done by Dan (32 not out) and Seb (29 not out) with a very useful contribution from Charlie of 23..
Congratulations go to Charlie in his 1st XI debut, taking 5 for 8 off 6 overs and scoring 23.
Truro win by 4 wickets
Under 14 v Newquay Tretherras

Mitchell took 2 for 5 off 2, Rebecca took 3 for 16 off 3, Purchas took 2 for 4 off 2 and Edwards only bowled 1 over but returned figures of 2 for 4! We rattled off the runs fairly quickly with Harris and Ali getting 14 each to win by 8 wickets.

Under 15 v Plymouth College
Truro School76 all out
A very strong Plymouth side played well and made the most of some wayward Truro bowling. In return Truro lost early wickets and only managed to scored 76. There were no notable Truro performances.
Under 14 v Plymouth College
Plymouth College were the next opponents in an extended 25 over match. Once again we bowled and fielded with accuracy and were tight in the field, conceding only 119 runs. This gave us every chance to chase that total down. Pick of the bowlers were; Moses who took 1 for 5 off 4 and Edwards who took 1 for 17 off 3 overs. We batted sensibly losing only 2 wickets to record a victory by 8 wickets with 2.2 overs to spare. Edwards 43 and Purchas 29 not out batted with flair and skill.
