Cornwall Sports Partnership – Girls’ Cricket Tournament 1st-4th Years

On Friday 27 May, 9 motivated and determined cricketers set out at noon for a tournament in the lovely sunshine down Camborne cricket club.

The girls were organised and prepared well before each game took place, knowing and understanding how each other play and thinking tactically against each opposition they played against. The girls fielded well as a team, catching many batters from other schools out and transferring the ball well around the pitch when fielding to get it back to the bowler or backstop, their positioning was spot on.

All three games were extremely entertaining and competitive, we opened all three games batting so knew we had to make sure we got as many runs as possible, as it was only 8 overs for each team and everyone could bat, we risked running each bowl to get more runs which went in our favour. The girls came out on top quite convincingly for all three games and they now go through to the next stage of the tournament which will take place on Friday 1st July at Mounts Bay. Well Done Girls!
