Drama & Music Events - Summer Term 2010

The Burrell Theatre complex at Truro School provides a multifunction 200-seat auditorium for theatre performances, music concerts, conferences and lectures. In addition to the auditorium the complex includes four classrooms, two lecture spaces and a gallery space as well as a rehearsal room and scenery store. The Burrell Theatre complex was formally opened by the internationally renowned lyricist Sir Tim Rice in 2002 and it received a Special Commendation for a new building 2002 in the Cornwall Buildings Group annual awards that year.

Theatre Performances

Truro School runs a full theatrical programme throughout the year including a variety of visiting theatrical companies and highly acclaimed school productions which are open to an audience from across Truro, Cornwall and beyond.

Conferences & Lectures

The Burrell Theatre is a perfect venue for conferences, book launches and lectures with a seating capacity of 200. Since its opening, the theatre has played host to a variety of lecture evenings including those with General Sir Jack Deverell, renowned Journalist Kate Adie and Gulf War Commander General Sir Peter de la Billiere.
