Boys' Boarding at Truro School - Boarding School in Cornwall UK
Truro School offers boys boarding between the ages of 11 and 18 with two separate houses.
Junior Boys’ Boarding 11 – 15
For boys from the 1st Year to the 4th Year (11 to 15 year olds), Poltisco House is inviting and fun, and caters for 13 boys in six bedrooms. Each boy in the boarding school has his own space with a bed, wardrobe, desk, shelf and pin board.
The recently acquired games room is a place where the boys can enjoy their PlayStation 4, and play table football and pool. In addition there is a lounge in the house with a TV and DVD player where they can relax and chat.
Mr Andy Lawrence is the Deputy Housemaster of Poltisco, and has been at Truro School for over 17 years, the last 15 of which he has been a member of the boarding staff, caring for boys from 11 to 18.
“Poltisco really is a ‘home from home’. We are passionate about providing an environment which shapes our boys as people. We encourage them to develop a feeling of mutual respect and appreciation, as they share experiences with other boys from the UK and around the world. Accommodating boys in 1st Year to 4th Year means that Poltisco House is, for many, their first experience of boarding and we look to ensure that it is a positive one in every way.” Andy Lawrence, Deputy Housemaster
“Junior boys’ boarding is the best, because in the boarding house I feel like I am at home and it won’t let me feel lonely. I have been here for 2 years and I will not forget the friends I have made.” 3rd Year boy

Senior Boys’ Boarding 15 – 18
Trennick is the biggest of the boarding school houses with thirty bedrooms, two separate lounge areas and a kitchen. Based in the heart of the main school, the house is home to 5th Year and Sixth Form boarders, most of whom have their own room.
Mr Tom Copeland and his wife Alex are the Houseparents who look after the Trennick boys. They live on site with their sons Harry and Charlie. Mr Andy Lawrence is the Assistant Housemaster who lives on site too with his wife Jackie and two children Matt and Bryony. Tom teaches maths and coaches rugby while Andy is a PE teacher and Head of Cricket.
Trennick House provides a modern boarding experience, caring for the senior boys in an environment that they come to think of as their second home. True to Cornish heritage, Trennick is a ‘one and all’ community. Boys from around the world forge lifelong friendships. The boys benefit from their home at the heart of the school with its fantastic facilities on their doorstep.
“Whatever their strengths, we are confident the boys in Trennick will leave our care as perfect gentlemen and ready for studying and working in the global village of the modern world.” Tom Copeland, Housemaster
