Boarding at Truro School

Home from home

Being a boarder at Truro School is being part of a genuinely caring, family community where boarders feel that they have come to a home from home. There are about 60 boarders, aged between 11 and 18, and with a real mixture of different nationalities.

Complete flexibility

To support your family’s lifestyle, we have four boarding options for all situations:

  • Full boarder: stays at weekends and returns home for the holidays
  • Weekly boarder: boards Monday to Friday
  • Flexi-boarder: stays over now and again, ideal if Mum or Dad is away or there is a late activity at the school
  • Day boarder: joins for meals and prep but is collected in the evening and sleeps at home

Fun and Friends

Everyone makes friends at school, but as a boarder, you get to share more of your time with your friends, doing many different things. With lots of activities at the weekends and in the evening, there is no time to be bored or lonely: paint-balling, trips to the beach, going to the cinema, as well as taking advantage of the facilities on the school campus – an onsite fitness suite, astroturf (for evening football matches) and swimming pool. If you want quiet time, there are plenty of places to find your own space.

  • Helping children to be healthy
  • Helping children make a positive contribution
  • Helping children achieve well and enjoy what they do   The inspectors said that, “Boarders frequently described boarding in terms of being “home from home”, “a community”, and “a positive experience”. Boarders appreciate the house staff describing them as “genuinely caring” and “very approachable” or “legend”.
