Fancy a taste of Polish culture?
This exciting event will see many of Cornwall’s top pianists with friends and students from Truro School play all of Frédéric Chopin’s 51 mazurkas during the course of one day to help raise funds for a new grand piano.
Born in Poland in 1810, Chopin adapted Polish folkdance to suit his unique pianistic genius. These lively and emotive pieces, bewilderingly various in mood, reveal the soul of his native country and represent a culture enduring political oppression.
Food and Dance
The event will also be supported by Truro’s Polish Food shop Janosik who will be providing some culinary delights for all to enjoy! Jason Thomas Performing Arts will also be providing some Mazurka dancing.
The Mazurkathon will take place on Saturday 14 November 2015 between 11:00am and 3:30pm in Truro School Chapel. We should be delighted to welcome anyone who would like to drop in either for the whole day or for any part of it.
Free entry. All donations are welcome.
