2nd Year Swimming Gala Breaks School Records

On Friday 11 March the 2nd Year students assembled in the school’s swimming pool for the annual house swimming gala.

This year the standard of swimming was exceptional with two notable achievements set by Smith House.

Swimming Records Broken

2nd Year boys’ Freestyle Relay

  • Old record: 2nd Year boys’ Freestyle Relay held by Smith set in 2000 at 1.02.67
  • New record: 2nd Year boys’ Freestyle Relay set by Luke B, Milo H, Max H & Sam N with a time of 1.01.86

2nd Year boys’ Medley Relay

  • Old record: 2nd Year boys’ Medley Relay held by Wickett set in 1994 at 1.13.37
  • New record: 2nd Year boys’ Medley Relay set by Luke B, Sam N, Max H & Milo H with a time of 1.07.86. – Yes, you read that correctly, over 5 seconds off the record set in 1994!

 
Despite the dominance of the Smith House record breakers, it was School House that romped to victory with a 10 point lead:

2nd Smith: 48 points
3rd Wickett: 45 points
4th Vinter: 43 points
